Sunday Afternoon Concerts in the Dome - ROGUE LEMON COLLECTIVE

So thrilled to back at the Mount Wilson Observatory this summer!

from their website—

A reception will be held outside the dome at 4 PM. Light refreshments will be served.

PLEASE NOTE: Access to the dome performance level is via a 53-step staircase. Mount Wilson Observatory is a mile high in elevation so the air is noticeably thinner. There is no ADA-compliant access.

The 100-inch telescope is the instrument with which astronomer Edwin Hubble discovered our place in an expanding universe and so expanded our comprehension. The dome for the telescope—designed by Chicago architect D.H. Burnham—is a 20th century temple to science whose acoustics rival the great cathedrals of Europe and provides a unique setting for this ambitious music series.

Huu Bac Quintet

excited to be a part of this wonderful collaboration once again!

“The Huu Bac Quintet delivers a true dialogue between Asian, North and South American cultures in a contemporary, original and unique way! They charm through the beauty and intensity of their musical pieces as well as through impressive mastery of the dan bau (vietnamese monochord), the erhu (chinese fiddle), the quena (andean flute) and the jazz guitar.”

EVERGREEN [to grow]

EVERGREEN [to grow] is a dazzling musical experience through the traditional concert setting that features Caroline Shaw’s The Evergreen into a culturally relevant crisis, thus affecting our everyday lives. This cross-discipline project brings about new collaborative experiences through the artistic and scientific lens, and raises awareness of climate change in the city of Dallas.
